I knew of Jacqueline du Pré from her music, I’m a big fan of the cello. I did not however know of the tragic story of her life. I don’t know how much of the movie has been dramatised, but she was a brilliant cellist who was cut down way too early.
I really recommend this movie. I thought it was fantastic.

This movie is amazing. Brilliant soundtrack by RZA of Wu-Tang fame, some beautiful camera shots, and a compelling story. I love how Jarmusch has crossed over Samurai code to mafia hit men, and how he shows the dedication that Ghost Dog has for his art, belief structure and warrior code.
I really enjoyed it.

I found out tonight B&S are playing in Melbourne tomorrow night, and the night after, and then they’re going to Sydney, and then Brisbane. Had I known this in advance, I would have been more than happy to fly over to Australia to see them. Why oh why don’t they come to New Zealand?
No matter, soon I’ll be in England and will see them easily (I hope!).

Got the GiST and it’s a tool for managing GST (sales tax) returns to the government in New Zealand. It’s aimed at small and medium businesses.
Fingers crossed I can pull it all off. Time for some marketing I think.

Now just got to wait for a letter from VF and the UK Government and I can apply for my entry clearance. What a long drawn out process.
